HiMCM academic integrity & AI disclosure

MAKE THE
WORK TRACEABLE.

A credible modeling paper makes it possible to distinguish the team’s own decisions from data, references, software, external help, and tool-assisted work.

Official rules control. Read COMAP’s current instructions for source use, collaboration, AI tools, certification, and disclosure. This page is a preparation checklist, not an official ruling.
01

Attribute

Cite data, definitions, methods, images, code, and ideas that came from another source.

02

Reproduce

Keep code, parameter choices, data transformations, and intermediate checks so results can be rebuilt.

03

Disclose

Record external assistance and tool use in the form required by the current official instructions.

04

Verify

Check every citation, numerical claim, generated result, and reference before submission.

05

Own

Students must understand and be able to explain the models, code, figures, and prose submitted.

06

Separate

Use historical materials for learning, never as a source of text or work to disguise as original.

AI TOOL
CHECKPOINTS.

Before use

Read the current organizer rules and team policy. Decide which uses are permitted and how prompts and outputs will be logged.

During use

Treat output as untrusted. Verify math, code, facts, sources, and wording; never invent a citation or conceal external contribution.

Before submission

Ensure the team understands every included element and completes the disclosure or report required by the official instructions.

FINAL
AUDIT.

  • Every source appears in the references and every reference is actually used.
  • Quoted or closely paraphrased language is clearly attributed.
  • Data provenance and transformations are recorded.
  • Software and external assistance are documented as required.
  • AI-generated suggestions have been independently checked and disclosed under the official rules.
  • No identifying information appears where the official paper format prohibits it.
