HiMCM registration guide

REGISTER WITH
THE ORGANIZER.

Registration is completed through COMAP’s official contest system by the team advisor. This independent site can explain the process but cannot create, certify, or submit an official entry for you.

How HiMCM registration works

Registration for HiMCM is completed by the team’s faculty advisor through COMAP’s official contest system – students cannot register themselves, and this independent guide cannot register or certify a team for you. The fee is US$100 per team, paid by credit card on COMAP’s secure site, and it is non-refundable. Registration for the 2026 contest closes at 2:00 pm EST on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 – the same day the contest window opens at 3:00 pm EST – and COMAP accepts no late registrations. The advisor registers each team, receives a team control number and password, and may assign specific students to each team any time before the contest starts; once a team reads the problems, its membership is locked. The full ruleset lives in the 2026 contest guide.

BEFORE YOU
PAY.

  • Confirm that all students meet the current eligibility rules.
  • Choose a faculty advisor who can complete official registration and certification.
  • Confirm the team roster and understand the organizer’s rules on membership changes.
  • Read the current fee, payment, refund, deadline, and time-zone language on COMAP.
  • Record the team control number and protect account access.

COMAP’s published 2026 instructions list a US$100 registration fee per team. Fees and deadlines can change, so verify the value in the live official system before payment.

Registration FAQ

COMMON
QUESTIONS.

How do I register for HiMCM 2026?

A faculty advisor completes registration and payment on COMAP’s official contest system – not a third-party payment link. The advisor creates or reuses an advisor account, registers each team for US$100, and records the team control number shown on screen, which is the only confirmation of successful registration.

When does HiMCM registration close?

Registration closes at 2:00 pm EST on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, one hour before problems are released at 3:00 pm EST the same day. The system then stops accepting new teams and COMAP accepts no late registrations, so advisors should register well in advance.

Can team members change after the contest starts?

No. Advisors may assign or adjust team members any time up to the beginning of the contest period, but once the contest window opens and the problems are read, team membership is locked for the duration of the contest.

How many teams can one school enter?

There is no limit. A school, institution, or approved program may register any number of teams, and a single advisor may advise any number of teams – each team is registered separately at US$100 per team.

Do not send registration fees or official contest credentials to an independent tutor or matching service unless the official COMAP workflow explicitly requires it. Use COMAP’s live system for official registration.
